Less than a year on and the allotment is flourishing. Nasturtiums, Bergamot, Borage and Echinacea are shown here but there is also Mallow, Marshmallow, Motherwort, Sages, Thymes, Lavender, Fennel, Cardoon, Hyssop and many many others. We won’t harvest too much this year to give the plants time to establish. Nature has gifted us with her own contributions too. Chickweed has sprung up, along with nettles, comfrey, docks, plantain and thistles. Although it may be tempting to view these as weeds (and they do need controlling as they can rather dominate) they have great therapeutic properties and are welcome in allocated areas!
